Read Aloud Bay Minette Event Gallery
Read Aloud Bay Minette is a coordinated effort between Read Aloud Baldwin, the Bay Minette Public Library, and the North Baldwin Literacy Council. The purpose is simple, to get parents interested in reading to their children. With many
story book characters walking around in costume, to celebrity readers from all walks of life, to arts and crafts for the children to do, the day is usually a huge success.
Many times free books are given out to all the children. The costs for this project come from many generous sources in and around the community. There are many resources available to parents including information about our programs at
the North Baldwin Literacy Council, HIPPY (Home Instruction for parents of preschool youngsters), and The Head Start.
This event is not a fundraiser for the council, but simply a fun day for the kids and a way to get parents more involved in reading to their children. If parents read to their children they will do better in school and will be less likely
to end up in one of our programs when they get older.
